The Proj4js library – http://trac.osgeo.org/proj4js/ – is the business when you want to have some client side coordinate conversion
Here are three simple steps to get working

1)Download the library from http://trac.osgeo.org/proj4js/

2)Include the library as part of your html page

<script src="proj4js-combined.js"></script>

3) Add the definitions for your coordinate systems, via EPSG codes, that will be converting to/from

Proj4js.defs["EPSG:29902"] = "+proj=tmerc +lat_0=53.5 +lon_0=-8 +k=1.000035 +x_0=200000 +y_0=250000 +a=6377340.189 +b=6356034.447938534 +units=m +towgs84=482.5,-130.6,564.6,-1.042,-0.214,-0.631,1.6810581709138355 +no_defs";

Proj4js.defs["EPSG:4326"] = "+proj=longlat +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84 +no_defs";

You can use http://www.spatialreference.org/ to get the definitions you need

4) Once you have all that set up you are ready to convert

'//Define the source Coord Sys
var src = new Proj4js.Proj("EPSG:29902");
'//Define the destination Coord Sys
var dst = new Proj4js.Proj("EPSG:4326");
'//Create a point object
var point = new Proj4js.Point(x, y);
'//Do your conversion
Proj4js.transform(src, dst, point)
'//The point object no has the converted coordinates
alert(point.y + "," + point.x);

Happy Converting
